1963 – the Gladiators

Norm Provan announces his retirement, Johnny Kings scores a controversial grand final try and John O’Gready takes aguably the most famous photograph in rugby league – one that goes on to become the NRL Premiership Trophy. St George win their eighth title in a row in 1963 against Western Suburbs.

1964 – the accidental halfback

Norm Provan does a Melba, St George sign one of England’s best, and find a new halfback by accident. The Red V take on Balmain Tigers in the grand final searching for their ninth straight premiership.
