Originally from Blayney, played for Country Firsts and NSW as an 18-year-old before joining St George in 1973. Was a constant in the first-grade side from 1973 to 1977, missing just five games in that time and playing every first-grade game in 1973, 1976 and 1977 and missing just one game in 1975. Played in the 1975 and 1977 Grand Finals. With regular goalkicker Ted Goodwin injured, missed a long-range goal in the last minute of extra time in the 1977 Grand Final that would have won the premiership
