Nathan Brown

Emerged in 1993 when he appeared in 16 matches, including the major preliminary semi-final and the Grand Final, usually as a second-half replacement for Wayne Collins. Came off the bench in the 1996 Grand Final and started in 1999. Was St George Illawarra co-captain, with Craig Smith, in 2000. Played 171 first-grade games over eight seasons for St George/St George Illawarra, most by a specialist hooker for the Dragons. Was forced to retire just prior to the start of the 2001 season after learning he had a serious neck injury
