Brisbane three-quarter who famously trialled for St George in 1978 as ‘Mickey Lane’ before signing a contract at the start of that season. Quickly established himself as Saints’ No. 1 winger, scoring some spectacular long-range tries. He was the club’s leading tryscorer in 1978 and 1979, with 30 tries in 39 games. His 16 tries in 1979 tied Manly Tom Mooney as the competition’s leading tryscorer. Scored Saints’ second try in the 1979 Grand Final. Played four State of Origin games, as a representative of South Sydney and Redcliffe.
