Arncliffe Scots junior who, played mostly thirds in 1970 and the club named him the player of the year across all grades. Made his first-grade debut in round 1, 1971, against defending premiers Souths, when he played the entire third-grade game and then came on as replacement in the top grade and scored a try. Found himself stuck behind Billy Smith and Ross Strudwick (who would play for Australia after moving to Brisbane), and broke his leg in 1973, which meant he didn’t establish himself in first grade until 1976, when he came into the side after Smith was injured and did so well he kept his place even when the club legend recovered. Was magnificent in the 1977 premiership year but missed the grand final replay because of a knee injury. After captaining the side briefly in 1978 was forced to retire because of a neck injury

Played a total of 58 games for St George
