Played 10 Tests for New Zealand from 1967 to 1971 before joining Canterbury, where he played three seasons before transferring to St George for the 1975 season. Was an important figure in the team that went from missing the finals in 74 to the Grand Final a year later. Was Saints leading pointscorer in both his seasons at the club, and captained the side on two occasions in his first year at Kogarah, when Graeme Langlands and Billy Smith were both unavailable. Perhaps his greatest day for the Red V was the major semi-final in 1975, when he kicked four goals in St Georges shock 85 win over premiership favourites Easts.
Played a total of 43 games for St George
