The only man to play for St George in a grand final victory from 1956 to 1966, and also be part of a winning St George grand final side outside that 11-year winning streak. Was the fullback in the 1949 and 1956 premiership winning sides. Was the premiership’s leading pointscorer in 1955 (185 points) and 1956 (189 points). Lost his first-grade place to Brian Graham late in the 1957 season, but not before he became St George’s all-time leading pointscorer, passing Noel Pidding and finishing just a solitary goal short of 600 first-grade points for the club
